Rocket.net is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to maintain the reliability, stability, and performance of its managed hosting platform. This remote role combines infrastructure operations, production monitoring, advanced technical troubleshooting, and escalated customer support.
Responsibilities include monitoring servers and customer environments, investigating alerts and service disruptions, participating in incident response, and performing root cause analysis. The engineer will troubleshoot Linux production systems and web hosting technologies, including NGINX, Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, and Redis. Additional duties include resolving complex WordPress, DNS, networking, SSL/TLS, caching, Cloudflare, and website performance issues; supporting VIP customers; improving monitoring and automation; and documenting troubleshooting procedures.
Applicants should have at least three years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or a similar field. Strong Linux command-line and production troubleshooting skills, knowledge of web hosting infrastructure, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, CDN, caching, Cloudflare, WAF, monitoring tools, and incident response are required. Experience with managed WordPress hosting, high-traffic websites, Bash scripting, or observability tools such as Datadog is beneficial.
This is a full-time remote position based in the United States or elsewhere, according to the employer’s statement that employees can work from anywhere in the world.
