Veeva is building a new AI-focused product for the life sciences industry and is looking for a senior engineer to join the founding development group. This person will help establish the technical foundation, contribute directly to product development, and help shape engineering practices as the team expands.

The position offers broad ownership, from creating features to supporting them after release, with AI tools incorporated into everyday engineering work.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of features throughout their lifecycle, including planning, coding, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvements.
• Work closely with product and engineering colleagues to evaluate technical approaches and solve challenging problems.
• Break down complex issues quickly and determine practical paths toward reliable solutions.
• Help establish development standards, coding practices, and effective AI-assisted engineering methods.
• Review code across the engineering team and provide useful technical feedback.
• Coach and mentor engineers while helping strengthen the team’s overall capabilities.
• Contribute regularly to production software using AI-assisted development techniques.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with production-level Python expertise required.
• Strong background building and operating large-scale enterprise SaaS applications in cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design systems capable of handling substantial traffic and workloads.
• Hands-on experience with modern open-source technologies, particularly Python, Git, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
• Comfortable working in a rapidly evolving, startup-style environment.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and improving team performance.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• High standards for ownership, integrity, and professional execution.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $110,000–$270,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and expected contributions. Additional compensation may include variable or stock-based bonuses.
